Asian Spinal Cord Network (ASCoN)

The Asian Spinal Cord Network (ASCoN) is a network of organisations in Asia that have come together to share and learn from each other in all aspects of spinal cord injury management. It was initiated in 2001 following a meeting of regional experts during the International Conference on Spinal Cord Lesion Management hosted by the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP), Bangladesh. ASCoN has 75 member organisations in 18 countries in Asia. ASCoN became an affiliated society of the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) in 2004.

The Asian Spinal Cord Network (ASCoN) Conference is an event that brings people together to engage different government policy-making bodies and stakeholders of persons with disabilities and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). In the ASCoN conference, we review existing policies while engaging persons with disabilities and SCI in decision-making processes to ensure accessibility and strengthen spinal injury services and human resource development for organizations and people working in spinal injury management in the Asia region. We also share new information, ideas, and knowledge of best practices in SCI management among members. We encourage innovation sharing, research sharing, and learning from each other.
